Posters Guidelines

Guidelines for ICAD 2004 Poster Presentations

All posters will be presented on Wednesday, 7th July 2004. You should be ready to put your poster on display during the morning tea break (11.30am - 11.45am). Poster presentations will be given during the poster session between 16.00 and 18.00, after which you should take your poster down.

Your poster will be on display for most of the day to provide an opportunity for people to read it at a time that suits them. It should therefore be clear without the author being present to explain it. You should be present at your poster and available to answer questions and discuss your work with the audience during the poster presentation session between 16.00 and 18.00. You will be required to make a short presentation of your poster to interested audience members who request it. It is therefore recommended that you rehearse a short presentation of the main points of your poster that you can present to people as required.

The posters will be presented in the conference room. Boards and pins to attach the posters will be provided. The poster boards will be approximately 1.8 metres wide and .9 metres high. You will be directed about where to place your poster when you arrive. Your poster should be clear and simple and convey a strong message. The size of the poster should be AO and it should preferably be laminated. Ensure that the font size is large enough for it to be legible from a distance of about two metres. Graphics should also be clear and simple. If you need to use a laptop computer to enhance your presentation, make sure it is battery powered.
